During the birthing season, Alpha Wildlife begins each raccoon removal project with a thorough search of your home for baby raccoons. These kits are immobile and cannot be chased or trapped from your attic. We must remove them by hand and relocate them to a safer environment.
Female raccoons work hard to protect and hide their litter of babies. Finding these babies is never easy and pretty much always involves crawling through a cramped and sweltering attic that is full of fiberglass insulation that has
a distinctive strong odor of urine and feces.
Our Raccoon Removal Services Include:
Trapping & Removal
Once we confirm the animal species that has entered your home, we are trained to use the most effective and humane means of removing the animals. While we use many different traps, our team uses the most effective trap for each animal and situation.
Sometimes we simply set live traps or use other devices that allow the animals to safely exit your home, but not get back inside. Other times we remove the animals by hand, or with special tools such as snare poles.
In every animal removal project, Alpha Wildlife Knoxville follows and obeys all local and state laws provided by the State of Tennessee. We always take the most humane approach and search for babies before leaving and sanitizing.
Repair of Entry Holes / Prevention
Repairing entry holes is a crucial step in the wildlife removal process. Sealing all entry holes shut ensures no future wildlife entry from these holes, which is also our goal. Our job is not considered complete until 100% of the entry holes are found and sealed shut. When applicable, we use steel. Rodents such as rats and squirrels are unable to chew through steel – they prefer wood.
Wildlife that enters your home often leave behind large amounts of droppings, urine, hair, oils, food, nesting materials, etc. It is these remnants left behind that attract other rodents (mice, rats, flying squirrels, raccoons) and even maggots. The scent they leave behind often encourages other animals to chew their way into your home, or use the same hole that the first animal used.
Odor problems are also a big problem. Mold can grow on waste area, and dead animals often attract maggots.
Our removal team removes or vacuums all droppings, and removes and replaces all soiled insulation.
Next we fog the attic with a special enzyme-based cleaner. This deodorizes and sanitizes the space and destroys any organic matter.
Raccoon Danger & Risks
Wildlife removal is a dangerous industry. We are continuously trained with the latest techniques and study the habits of wildlife. This allows us to use the most effective removal process and remain safe.
Raccoons can transmit diseases to both humans and your pets. How? They have disease on their paws, along with raccoon roundworms. When they walk all over your attic, they spread these diseases.
Infectious diseases carried by raccoons include raccoon roundworm, leptospirosis (bacterial infection), salmonella and rabies.
Raccoon Removal Equipment
All of Alpha Wildlife’s technicians have a fully equipped service truck, along with many types of traps, animal removal tools, ladders, and have experience in roof repair. Our animal removal team has the gear and expertise for inside attic removal and repair.
Dead Animal Removal
Yes, removing active wildlife from your home is our main goal, but another problem is finding and removing dead animals. It is important to remove the dead animals properly to get rid of the odor and sanitize the area.
Most professionals use an enzyme-based spray to make sure that no bacteria is left behind in your home, which can potentially result in you or your pet getting sick. This special sanitizer breaks down pheromones left behind so no other animals come around.
If you’ve tried to safely get rid of raccoons in your home without success, give us a call. You’ll immediately feel comforted by our Knoxville wildlife removal team. This is our life and we truly care about your safety and want you to get back to living a normal life.
